Bordeaux 2-1 Bayern Munchen: Bordeaux go top

AFP
Bordeaux missed two penalties but still came from behind to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 and move to the top of Uefa Champions League's Group A .

Defender Michael Ciani's own goal in the sixth minute had put four-time European champion Bayern ahead before Ciani made up for his mistake with a superb volley with his heel.

Marc Planus scored Bordeaux's winner in the 40th.

Bayern was reduced to ten men after just half an hour when midfielder Thomas Muller fouled Matthieu Chalme and picked up his second yellow card.

The German team lost a second player after Daniel Van Buyten was red-carded in the 87th.

Bordeaux has seven points from three games in Group A, Juventus is second with five points after beating Maccabi Haifa 1-0 in Italy, while Bayern is third with four.

France playmaker Yoann Gourcuff started his first match since picking up a thigh injury against Maccabi Haifa last month behind lone striker Marouane Chamakh.
